Here’s my quick 3d render sketch of a “car”. Obviously needs refinement but you know it is a sketch!
I started a portrait drawing then painted the face. Felix tweaked it a bit and added the background. Fun collaboration.
At first I really thought I nailed the colors in the face, then I zoomed out and was mildly disappointed. Trust me get down in there and there are loads of color layers happening! Work darker next time Bliss! Listen to Felix!
The sketchdaily theme for today was 28 Days Later or zombies or concrete. I picked concrete and did a study of some weeping Angels from Doctor Who. I used some new brushes trying to get that concrete feel. These are the brushes Felix loves to use that I just can’t get a handle on. Coulda worked longer on it but today is cleaning day and I am actually going to clean instead of procrastinate.
In addition Illustration Friday’s theme was reflect, soooo I reflected the image for a sneaky double post. Yes the lighting doesn’t make any sense but you know neither does the Doctor.
We only have one tablet and as of late I have felt overly attached to drawing with it. Felix has a great portrait he is working on so I braved the great big world of drawing on paper. How quickly I got stuck to the tablet and all of its digital glory! Well here is my late night drawing. The first in a long time. I didn’t know how to start so drew the bottom phone first, which has multiple giant cracks in it (Just like in real life). Good fun and a great reminder to loosen up and go back to my pre-digital roots.
Here are a few attempts of r/sketchdaily’s eraser challenge. The challenge was to only use an eraser on a dark surface to create different values with in the picture. Not surprisingly I made up a couple of faces for the challenge. They look like they could be ghosts. It is pretty hard not to be tempted by other tools and adjust the proportions or smooth the gradients along the way. Shit how do I erase? Ah the paint tool. Not in the rules buddy.
